In short
- We collect what you choose to send us, such as your name, contact details and message.
- We use your details to reply to you and to discuss the work you asked about.
- We never sell your details or add you to a mailing list without asking.
- If you accept cookies, we use Google Analytics to see how the website is used. We never use advertising trackers.
- You can ask us to show, correct or delete your details at any time.
1.Who we are
Vexalora (“we”, “us”) is a technology and digital transformation company working with schools, colleges, universities, coaching institutes and organisations across India.
We decide why and how the personal details described in this policy are used. Under India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, that makes us the data fiduciary for them.
2.What we collect
We collect what you choose to give us, and some information about how the website is used.
- Through our contact form: your name, the name and type of your institution or organisation, your email address, your message, the services you are interested in and how you would like us to contact you. Your role and phone number are optional.
- When you email, call or message us on WhatsApp: your email address or phone number, and whatever you choose to tell us.
- When you visit the website: the company that hosts it may record standard technical details, such as your IP address, browser type and the pages requested, to keep the site secure and working. We do not use these to identify you.
- Through Google Analytics, if you accept cookies: how you use the website, such as the pages you view and how long you stay, the type of device and browser you use, your approximate location (city or region) and the website that led you here. See Cookies and analytics.
We never ask for passwords, bank or card details, health information or identity numbers. Please don’t include them in a message.
3.How we use your details
We use the information we collect only:
- to reply to your enquiry and arrange a conversation;
- to prepare a proposal and carry out work you ask us to do;
- to keep a record of our conversations with you;
- to understand how the website is used, so we can improve it;
- to protect the website and our inbox from spam and misuse;
- to meet our legal obligations.
You give your consent by choosing to send us your details for one of these purposes. You can withdraw it at any time, as explained under Your rights. Google Analytics runs only if you accept cookies, and you can change that choice whenever you like, as explained under Cookies and analytics.
4.Who we share them with
We do not sell, rent or trade your personal details, and we never share them for advertising.
We share them only where it is needed to run our business, and only as much as is needed:
- the email services that deliver form submissions to us and store our business email;
- the company that hosts this website;
- Google, which provides Google Analytics;
- WhatsApp, when you choose to contact us there;
- professional advisers or government authorities, when the law requires it.
Some of these providers may store information on servers outside India.
5.How long we keep them
We keep your enquiry and our correspondence for as long as we need them to respond to you, to continue any work that follows, and to meet legal and accounting requirements. After that we delete them. If you ask us to delete your details sooner, we will, unless the law requires us to keep them. Google Analytics keeps information about visits for the period set in our account, and never longer than 14 months.
6.How we protect them
We take reasonable care to keep your details safe. The website uses an encrypted (HTTPS) connection, enquiries go only to our business inbox, and only the people who need your details to help you can see them.
No way of sending or storing information is completely secure. If a breach ever affects your details, we will tell you and the Data Protection Board of India, as the law requires.
7.Cookies and analytics
We use Google Analytics to understand how the website is used, for example which pages people read and how they find us, but only if you agree. On your first visit a banner asks whether you accept analytics cookies. Until you accept, Google Analytics does not load and no analytics cookies are set. We remember your choice in your browser’s storage so we don’t ask on every page, and you can change it at any time with “Cookie settings” at the bottom of every page.
If you accept, Google Analytics sets first-party cookies, named _ga and _ga_ followed by an ID, that tell one visit from another and last up to two years. If you later decline, we turn Google Analytics off and remove these cookies. We look only at overall reports, and use them only to improve the website.
We do not use advertising cookies or trackers, and we do not use Google Analytics to show you ads.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, or install Google’s Analytics opt-out browser add-on. Google’s privacy policy explains how Google handles this data.
8.Your rights
Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you can:
- ask for a summary of the personal details we hold about you and how we use them;
- ask us to correct, complete or update them;
- ask us to delete them;
- withdraw your consent at any time, without affecting anything we did before you withdrew it;
- nominate someone to exercise these rights for you if you die or are unable to act yourself;
- raise a grievance with us and, if you are not satisfied with our response, complain to the Data Protection Board of India.
To use any of these rights, contact us using the details below. We may need to confirm your identity before we act on a request.
9.Children
This website and our services are meant for institutions and organisations, and the adults who act for them. We do not knowingly collect personal details from anyone under 18. If you are a student, please ask a teacher, a parent or your institution to contact us for you.
